CATCHING UP - March 29, 2015

This post is much anticipated because it has been several months since our last post. We will back up to the month of March. We were enjoying the visit of our Circuit Overseer and his wife during the Memorial Season when typhoon Maysak hit our island of Moen with very little notice or warning. We awoke on the morning of Sunday March 29, 2015 planning on attending the public talk and the final day of our visit with the Circuit Overseer. Everything seemed normal except that it was a little windy and cloudy. The night before we knew there was a tropical storm in our vicinity, but a few minutes after 9:00 we heard the police announcing that a typhoon was fast approaching and for all to look for a safe place to stay. So Kathleen and I stayed here in our home after the meeting was official canceled. With the storm approaching we tried to catch up on some needed rest. About 11:00 a.m. the eye of Maysak made it our way. Most everyone thought it was over, but we knew it was only the eye of the storm and worse weather was on its way. The second half was much worse than the first. Since then we have been involved in relief work and some other privileges have come our way. We will explain in the next few post.
